Chiropody
is professional care for disorders of the feet. The
human foot consists of 26 bones bound together
by ligaments, supported by muscles and supplied
with blood vessels and nerves.
It supports our body weight and is therefore under
considerable strain and susceptible to injury.
The Podiatrist will give a biomechanical and gait
analysis/assessment/examination of the legs and
feet this involves performing a number of straight
forward clinical tests. He can then make an accurate
diagnosis and then implement a variety of treatment
regimens specifically tailored towards improving
the structure and function of the lower extremities.
Treatment can also include total nail/partial
nail avulsions under local anaesthetic and all
other general podiatric and foot pathologies. |
